The Heart of a Cattlewomen is a project started to encourage discussion and community among the women who raise, care for, and love cattle production.

“If you wait to be the perfect Christian, you’ll never be ready.”

For a long time, I’ve been waiting to share my story. I told myself, once I graduate college and settle down, I’ll be able to build a community where I’m at. Or, once I’m done with college, I’ll have more time to work on my relationship with Christ and will be a more reliable source of faith-based inspiration. There also was that voice in the back of my head that said, “You will never be a good enough example to reach people for God.” It was that voice that stirred feelings of doubt, the feelings of not being good enough. Fortunately, God gave me the words and motivation to change my mindset.

Recently, I’ve been hearing the phrase, “if you wait to be the perfect Christian, you’ll never be ready.” This phrase really hit me hard, for the longest time, I’ve been waiting to “clean my life up”. I thought I needed to wait for the “right place” and the “right time” to try to reach people for Christ. But God has really shown me that there will never be a “right place” or a “right time”.

Hello everyone! For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Sawyer, and I started this blog as a way of sharing my stories both as a cattle producer and as a Christian. The goal of this blog is two-fold, I not only hope to educate about the livestock industry through informative pieces, but I also hope to inspire people with my own personal experiences.

My first passion is my relationship with God and with others. I hope to build relationships with people through my blog posts and hope to encourage others to not only deepen their relationship with Christ but also with each other. My second passion is livestock. Not only do I love working with livestock and the land, but I enjoy educating others about the facts behind agriculture.

I am thankful to everyone who has already started to follow along, and I hope that I can continue to build this community in the future. If you ever have any questions about faith, livestock, or resources available, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Thank you,

Sawyer
